Tanima Ahmed, Ph.D.
Gender Economist | Data Scientist
I'm a gender economist and data scientist working at the intersection of labor, time use, care, equity, and evidence. With over a decade of experience across the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), International Finance Corporation (IFC), Institute for Women's Policy Research (IWPR), and global research institutions, I specialize in policy diagnostics, childcare return on investment (ROI), time use research, and gender-inclusive development.

I bring deep expertise in designing and analyzing large-scale household surveys—both quantitative and qualitative—to uncover insights that shape inclusive policies. Much of my work centers on the care economy—both childcare and eldercare—including how care systems are structured, valued, and supported across diverse contexts.

My research and advisory work spans Sub-Saharan Africa, South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the United States. I’m currently expanding my technical toolkit through a Data Science and AI program, bringing fresh analytical tools to conversations on global development and equity.
